LeBron Raymone James Sr., born December 30, 1984 is an American professional basket ball player who represents the Los Angeles Lakers (NBA). King James, he's widely regarded to be the greatest athlete of all time and has frequently compared to Michael Jordan during debates about the best basketball player ever. James has won two Olympic gold medals as well as four NBA championships. James is the NBA All-Star with the highest number of playoff points. He also has the second-highest point total, and seventh-highest assists total in his career. The NBA All-Star has made the All-NBA Team 18 times, an all-time record. He was also selected for the NBA All-Defensive First Team 5 times. In total, he participated in 10 NBA Finals, the third-most of all time. This includes eight straight from 2011 to 2018. James was named to the NBA's 75th Anniversary Team for 2021. He became the NBA's first player to score 10,000 points, rebounds and assist in 2022. James played basketball at St. Vincent St. Mary High School, which is located in his home town in Akron Ohio and was heavily touted by the national media as a future NBA star. As a prep to pro his dream, his team, the Cleveland Cavaliers chose him as the number one overall pick during the NBA draft in 2003. In 2004, he received the title of NBA Rookie. He soon was one of the league's best athletes, winning the NBA MVP award in the years 2009 and 2010. James went free agency following his failure to earn championships in Cleveland. He made the decision to leave Cleveland for Miami Heat, announced on the show on television The Decision, is considered among the most controversial free agent decisions in the history of sports.
